• Julie Hatcher - Preschool Director/K3 Teacher

    "Mrs. Hatcher," as she's known to the kids, begins her tenth year teaching at Faith Baptist Academy and her nineth year as the school Director. As the Director, Julie cares for the day to day operation of the school. She enjoys getting to know all the parents as they come in to tour the school. However, her passion is teaching her class. 


    “It’s so exciting and rewarding to watch a student’s face light up when they understand a new concept or overcome a challenge. This age group is so fun to teach and they bring joy to my heart every day.”  


    She also enjoys teaching the students Bible stories, verses, songs, and Biblical virtues like being kind to one another. Mrs. Hatcher believes being a teacher is so much more than a job; it is a pleasure to instruct and play with her students, all while they receive a quality faith based education. 


    Julie has been married to her wonderful husband, Charlie, for twenty-five years. They have three young adult children, of whom they are very proud. Her favorite pastime is to curl up with a good book and read, read, read!

  • Rhonda Svendsen - Kindergarten Teacher

    Mrs. Svendsen begins her seventh year at FBA and has 15 years of experience with preschool and kindergarten-age children. She previously worked at St. Matthew’s Preschool and Summit Christian Academy. She attended Butler Community College, took early childhood development classes sponsored by George Mason University, and homeschooled her children. She enjoys teaching children the joy of reading and learning about Jesus. She is also the mother of four children and attends Cornerstone Church in Annandale. She leads a Bible study in her home and mentors young mothers. Some of her favorite things to do are spending time with her family, friends, and playing with her dog.

  • Robin Abbott - K4 Teacher

    Mrs. Abbott has 25 years of teaching experience in Christian education, including K-3 through K-5. She is beginning her 12th year at Faith Baptist Academy. Mrs. Abbott loves teaching and working with children and watching them grow. from learning their ABC’s to being able to read. She is a firm believer of the A Beka curriculum and enjoys teaching it. Character building and teaching God’s Work is so important, and she loves being a part of that. Mrs. Abbott says, “I can honestly say that the Lord has blessed me throughout my teaching ministry, and I have loved every minute.” Mrs. Abbott has been blessed with a wonder husband of 40 years, 3 beautiful children, a wonderful daughter-in-law, a precious granddaughter named Emma, and a grandson named Liam. Her favorite pastime is gardening with her husband and cooking/baking.

  • Sonja Pack - K4 Teacher

    Mrs. Pack begins her fifth year at FBA. With altogether 8 years of teaching in Christian schools, 13 years of home schooling her children and subbing at FBA, she’s ready for this new chapter of teaching preschool. She received her BS in Education from Bob Jones University and has enjoyed being able to educate and teach children mentally and spiritually for many years. She has been married for 29 years and has four wonderful children. Another special activity that has kept her busy over the years is teaching a Good News Bible Club in two public schools in Fairfax County.
